Bill Bailey Gig

Bill Bailey

One of Britain's best-known comedians, Bill Bailey, is to appear at the Eden Project's first-ever Comedy Session on July 11.

Bill Bailey Live at Eden will be an eclectic mix of music invention and surreal imagination featuring material from the recent arena tour Tinselworm.

Bill is a comedian, musician and actor best known for his live shows Bewilderness and Part Troll, and his work on television in programmes such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Black Books and Spaced.

He was listed by The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy in 2003, and in 2007 he was voted number seven on Channel 4's hundred greatest stand-ups.

Bill said: "I'm delighted to be playing the inaugural Comedy Session at the Eden Project. I hope this is the first of many. Let there be jokes among the Biomes."

Jane Montague, Eden's Head of Large Scale Events, said: "We've been trying to get Bill Bailey to kick off our Comedy Sessions for the past five years. It's a dream come true and will be well worth the wait when this great, family-friendly show comes to Eden.

"Comedy feels like a very natural development for the Sessions and we are hoping that it will become a firm fixture at Eden in years to come and may even become our own version of a Cornish Fringe festival."

This is the first time a comic act has been on the bill at the Eden Sessions, now in their seventh year, and the gigs are now established as some of the country's most spectacular.
