Vampire Weekend Gig (support)

Vampire Weekend

Acclaimed indie rockers Vampire Weekend and Guillemots are the latest addition to the 2008 Eden Sessions line-up.

African-influenced, New York-based Vampire Weekend, whose self-titled debut album is rapidly climbing the UK charts, will be on the same bill as Jack White's The Raconteurs, who are playing in the shadow of the world's biggest greenhouses on June 29.

Last year, Rolling Stone voted Vampire Weekend's Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa as the 67th best song of 2007. In March, Spin magazine dubbed them the year's best new band and they became the first group to appear on the cover of the magazine before their debut album had been released.

British avant-garde rockers Guillemots will play the Eden stage on July 25 as guest of Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall.

Guillemots, whose second album Red hit the top ten in the UK on release in March, were nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2006 and last year for the best British Live Act gong at the Brit Awards.

Also supporting KT Tunstall will be Glaswegian four-piece Sons and Daughters, on the back of the critical success of their second album The Gift.

Leicestershire-based Late of the Pier will be supporting Kaiser Chiefs on July 15. The band, who are currently recording their debut album, had their song Bathroom Gurgle named as one of the NME's singles of the week last year.

Post-punk indie three-piece White Lies will also be on the Kaiser Chiefs bill.

The full Eden Sessions line-up is The Verve on June 27 (sold out), The Raconteurs on June 29, Bill Bailey, Eden's first Comedy Session, on July 11, Kaiser Chiefs on July 15 (sold out) and KT Tunstall on July 25.
